In the beginning…

Lufkin Benefit Solutions started in 2013 as an enhanced benefits (voluntary benefits) agency based out of Urbandale, Iowa. For the first roughly three years, our primary function was managing voluntary benefits for a single carrier for over 2,000 businesses ranging from 3 to 53,000 employees.

2017 transition…

In January of 2017 LBS moved away from working with just one carrier and began to partner with several other carriers that specialize in worksite enhanced benefits. This move came as we saw significant shifts in the world of medical and voluntary benefits as a whole. In this competitive marketplace, we feel our customers are better served by having more options.

Why LBS?

Many people need a solution to cover what “traditional insurance” does not. We see value in offering a smart/simple approach to the complicated world of enhanced benefits.
